OUGD504 - Design for Print - Ideas & Concept Manifestos

With the luxury retail destinations and streets of central London providing the publication context (Bond Street, Regent Street, Knightsbridge, Oxford Street, Sloane Street etc.), including both photographic and typographic content, ideas for the resolution to the brief must both reinforce and enhance the collated content and provide opportunity to create a polished, high quality outcome. Target audience and publication purpose must also be carefully considered.

Below are three distinct concept rationales for the publication, supplying differentiating directions and design potentials.

Concept One - Luxury Brands of London A-Z.

A publication providing details on an A-Z of London's luxury brands and stores including a summarised history/brand heritage and their visual identity.

This book would give specific insight into high-end brands in a luxuriously produced publication that reflects and reinforces contexts and overall concept.

This publication would be targeted at designers appreciative of luxury design and branding, as well as individuals who have an interest in luxury stores and brand history/heritage. This book would have a broad appeal whilst still being specific in content.


Concept Two - Luxury Brands of London Directory.

A brand directory of London's luxury brands/stores providing a point of reference concerned with the high-end sectors/streets of the city. Featuring addresses and location information, enhanced via presence of visual recognition (photographic content).

This publication's purpose would be to collectively provide location information within a point of delivery that appropriately reinforces the distinction and luxury intentions of the brands/stores that it features within.

A publication for those with an interest in London and its luxury retail destinations and their locations within the city, providing them with both photographic and typographic reference. The high-end finish to the publication itself would make its a desirable item to own for someone who shops at these stores.

Concept Three - Celebratory Bond Street Publication.

A celebratory showcase of the stores that call London's most exclusive and expensive shopping street, Bond Street, home. The most specific direction to potentially undertake.

The purpose of this publication would be to create a commemorative piece in celebration of the street's heritage and status as London's most acclaimed luxury shopping street.

The target of the publication would be those familiar with the street who wish to join in celebrating it and all that it offers to the luxury retail industry in  London.
