Job Description
To produce one or more 7" record sleeve designs that effectively use at least one artists' track featured in this years Secret 7 song selection as the starting point for the design process. Designs should not feature the artists name, or the chosen song name and should remain ambiguous in regard to these elements. Alternative lyrics may be featured, or alternatively resolutions can be purely visual creations. Resolutions to the live, competitive brief should reflect your own individual
interpretation of the songs via considered exploration, processes and techniques
of production.
Purpose
Designs are to be submitted to Secret 7 for the chance to be selected for production of a limited number of 7" vinyl record sleeves which will be sold for £50 each after being exhibited. One design per song will be selected from 1000's of entries from across the world. Monies raised from the sales of the sleeves will be donated to this years supported charity, Amnesty International. Motivation for the designs should be to create your own visual interpretation of one or more of the given songs.
Target
Although resolutions to be submitted are to potentially feature in this years Secret 7 exhibition, there is no specified target here. Designs should be visual interpretations of at least one of the artists' tracks which can be produced purely for the sake of taking part in the competition or personal gratification.
Point of Delivery
Final resolutions have the potential, if selected, to be exhibited as a part of the Secret 7 exhibition, open from the 8th April - 1st May, at this year's residence at the Sonos Studio in Shoreditch, London.
Designs produced must be within a 7" square format as to comply with the regulations/restrictions/considerations of the brief.
