In today's critique, with a new group, I delivered everything from my initial research to my latest developed type treatment. Below is my received feedback:
- Good primary and secondary research.
- The manifesto sells the typeface really well / establishes design decisions.
- Strong, informed concept and responding practice.
- Would work successfully as a display typeface.
- Excellent reflection and action from previous critique.
- Lower-case design decision is most appropriate.
- Three-quarter gradient level is most suitable.
The feedback I have received today has reassured my confidence in knowing that my design decisions for my bespoke typeface are viewed as informed and appropriate, which is what I have been trying to achieve. Taking my practice from here, I plan to take my established visual language and apply it to the 26 characters of the alphabet, identify any problematic letterforms and resolve them before producing contextual settings in which I can feature my type.
