When shooting the photographic content for the A-Z Type in Context publication in London, consideration must be given to the environment and potential restrictions/limitations that come along with it. Consideration must also be given to quality of the images and the perception they create in providing visual representation of the selected stores.
Images will be taken in colour in order for design decisions made by the establishments to be evident and subject to thorough analysis. Colour images will most successfully portray brand visual enhancements and reinforcing/supporting typographic styles.
Photos will be taken from a range of angles and viewpoints dependant on location and limitations of the environment. I anticipate many will be taken with a viewpoint from below due to the most typical positioning of signage above doors of the stores, whilst others may be taken from further away in order to ensure images are clear and full typographic pieces are captured.
Thought must be supplied to the nature of these streets, being in the very centre of the city as well as being the most famous shopping streets meaning pedestrian congestion is likely. Being able to capture images clear of disruption may be an issue at times.
All images need to be taken considering contexts of their locations and also the potentials of a publication. Photographic content must enhance and support the luxury intentions of the publication and the planned featured stores, meaning they must appear professional and considered.
